Dwyer Environmental Vision
At Dwyer, we recognize that humans impact our Environment by choice. The things we chose to do (and not to do) directly affect the health of the world around us. We have made a commitment to the continual improvement of our processes, programs, and products. Reduce resource consumption. Elimination of harmful emissions. Redirecting waste for reuse. These are just some of the highlights of our Environmental Vision.
Dwyer’s history (and future) is centered on making products that last. Our steel is durable, 100% recyclable, and contains a minimum 60% recycled content. By engineering casework that endures in our clients’ environments, we lengthen the lifecycle of their casework, thus reducing the amount of cabinetry-related waste going to landfills each year.
In addition to their durability, all of our products are GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified® and GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certified (SM), one of the most stringent tests of a product’s chemical emissions. By virtually eliminating our products’ release of harmful gases into the air, we contribute to the creation of healthy interior environments.
We continually challenge ourselves to take a holistic approach to sustainability.
Lean Engineering | Make it well, make it once.
We aim to design and engineer our products so that they perform well for their entire lifecycle. By utilizing advanced computer modeling and production systems, we can manage the tiniest details of our products, and even avoid wasteful prototyping. Our cabinets are designed to work for you now and into the future.
Chemical Avoidance | Healthy is not an option; it’s a standard.
From the adhesives used on our laminate to the cleaning products used in our facilities, we are committed to creating a healthy environment for our clients and our employees. Our new Showroom and Manufacturing facility was designed with Greenguard® Certified carpets, Scientific Certification Systems Indoor Advantage GOLD furniture systems, and many more choices that ensure we all breathe well.
Waste Redirection | From A to Z, and back again.
By repurposing packing materials, reusing material scraps, and sharing materials with local organizations, we can move waste out of the path of the landfill and into a circle of continuous use.
Resource Conservation | Borrow only what you need.
The only thing better than recycling materials is not using them in the first place. We are constantly evaluating our production practices for opportunities to do more with less. We allocate funds towards energy efficient machines and technology. We use high-efficient lighting and occupancy sensors that minimize our office’s electrical consumption.
Continuous Improvement | We’re keeping score, are you?
We know there is neither a prescriptive path to sustainability, nor an end. This is the beginning of an exciting chapter in our 80+ year history, and we’re ready to take on the next 80 with a renewed vision and commitment to the environment.
